The Guardia Civil have released detail involving the arrest of a man in Corralejo accused of carrying out a serious knife attack on 4th January. The incident occurred in the disused Baku complex, an area of Corralejo known to attract homeless people, drug addicts, and those linked to minor crime.
Emergency patrols from the Guardia Civil and the Local Police arrived to find a man with heavy bleeding from a deep 15-centimetre wound to his forehead. An ambulance was immediately requested while officers secured the area and began gathering evidence.
The suspected weapon, a knife, was found on the ground near the scene. Witnesses, whose statements were later formalised at police headquarters, reported that the attack followed an argument involving several people over money. According to their accounts, the now-detained suspect carried out a direct assault during the dispute.
The victim was treated at Corralejo Health Centre, where he received ten stitches for the head wound and treatment for multiple bruises before being discharged.
Thanks to witness descriptions and evidence recovered at the scene, officers arrested the suspect just 15 minutes after the initial call, at the same location where the assault took place.

Due to ongoing issues in the abandoned Baku area, the Guardia Civil maintains a regular presence and coordinated patrols to ensure public safety. Their rapid response in this case prevented further violence.
The detainee was brought before Puerto del Rosario’s duty court on 5th January, where the judge ordered his immediate imprisonment without bail.
