Man arrested for hotel room robberies in the south of Tenerife
The National Police have arrested a man accused of nine robberies and one case of fraud, committed in tourist accommodation, a private house, and a commercial premises in the Camisón area of Arona in the south of Tenerife. The investigation began following the report of seven robberies inside the rooms of a hotel complex in Las Americas, all on the same day.
As a result of the investigation, the officers were able to identify and locate the alleged perpetrator and detain him for questioning. The man confessed to the crimes and claimed he took advantage of open doors or windows to access the rooms, which is why he managed to burgle seven of them in a short space of time.
Shortly after, and in the same way, he did the same at a private house, as well as in a business, this time using force to gain access to the premises. So far, items to the value of 7,500 euros have been recovered from the break-ins.
Finally, the detainee, who already has numerous police records, was placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority, awaiting trial at the Arona courts.
