The commitment of the Loro Parque Group to high-quality tourism, sustainability, and the creation of unforgettable experiences for its visitors has once again translated into resounding success. Throughout 2023, over 3 million people have enjoyed the facilities of Loro Parque in Puerto de la Cruz, Siam Park in Costa Adeje, and Poema del Mar in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
This success is no coincidence; it is the result of continuous efforts to develop and maintain a unique offering with high-quality standards. Innovation and constant change serve as pillars to keep the attractions always at the forefront.
This year, Loro Parque has expanded its animal family with the arrival of numerous offspring from various species. This success is intrinsically linked to animal welfare, which drives the activities of the zoological park.
Exciting surprises are anticipated for 2024 with the opening of Coral Kingdom, the largest coral reserve outside the oceans. Visitors will be transported to an underwater world, surrounded by corals and more than 10,000 real fish.
They will experience the first fusion between the real underwater world and the virtual world, with fantastic projections of the seabed on LED floors and the sea surface seen from the depths. To fully enjoy this magnificent spectacle, corals need to grow and adapt to their new home, a natural process that takes several months and is expected to conclude next year.
On the other hand, the highlight at Siam Park this year has been Saifa, a thrilling water roller coaster where visitors engage in an exciting race. The ride features powerful boosters that propel visitors at speeds of 10 metres per second along a 307-metre-long course.
At Poema del Mar, exhibitions such as "Cuencas de África" and the fascinating world of cecilias continue to amaze visitors.
The Loro Parque Group conducts all its activities with a strong commitment to the environment, earning recognition as the most sustainable zoo by the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
Their integrated management system holds ISO 14001 and EMAS certifications, along with the Biosphere Sustainable Lifestyle certificate, and the TUI International Environmental Award.
Since 2018, Loro Parque has reduced single-use plastic consumption by 95%, preventing the generation of 85 tons of plastic in 2023. Additionally, the group generates its own clean energy. The company has also installed a new 10 MW photovoltaic plant, pending connection, which will double the energy production to 20 MW. This means that they will generate enough green energy to meet the needs of all of the companies within the group.
