La Pinta beach is back open but three others in Tenerife are closed
Adeje Council confirmed that contamination levels off La Pinta beach by Puerto Colon have dropped sufficiently to allow bathing in the water again, and re-opened the beach to the public this afternoon. In the meantime, three others now have restricted use in Granadilla de Abona.
The Granadilla Council has stopped bathing on the central beach of El Medano, the beach at La Tejita, and playa El Chinchorro due to the runoff of rainwater in yesterday’s storm (Thursday).
In a statement, they explained that it has been decided to close these three areas "to guarantee adequate levels of safety for the population", while waiting for the results of the relevant analysis being carried out by the Municipal Services.
As soon as the results are clear and suitable for bathing, they will be reopened, the statement added.
