Jet2 flight stops in Bilbao so that passengers can go to the toilet

Jet2 have reported that one of their flights from Gran Canaria to Manchester on Thursday (November 3^rd), had to make an unscheduled stop in Bilbao, not for a technical reason, but so that the passengers could go to the bathroom.

There was some confusion as to why flight LS782 had landed at Bilbao on its way to the UK, since these types of stops, which are usually posted by passengers on social media, are due to patients on board or technical failures of the aircraft, but this time it was because of a failure in the plane's toilets.

With 200 passengers on board, the waste storage system was not working, so the pilot requested permission to land at Bilbao airport, so that passengers could use the bathrooms and relieve themselves before continuing their journey to Manchester.

All went smoothly and the stop added just over an hour to their flight which went without incident from there on.
