Due to the serious situation that Tenerife is suffering due to the forest fire, the Granadilla City Council has decided to suspend the festive events scheduled for today (Saturday) and tomorrow (Sunday) in Charco del Pino, for security reasons and to support the emergency services who are working tirelessly against the blaze.
Local Police and Civil Protection officers will be made available to the municipalities affected by the fire and to the Cabildo, as well as two fire engines and tankers for watering areas near the fires.
At the same time, for precautionary reasons, they are reinforcing resources and surveillance at the top of the municipality in the forest areas, which are currently unaffected by the fire, to ensure that there are no outbreaks.
These festive events, which require police and fire presence, will be postponed to be held on other dates, which will be confirmed shortly. “We deeply regret the inconvenience that we may cause to the residents of our town, especially to the Charco del Pino Fiestas Commission, with whom we have already committed to scheduling new dates”, they said.
