On Sunday we, and the Spanish press, published an article regarding missing British resident, Stephen Andrew Fullman, stating that the 64-year-old had been found alive in Tenerife, nine months after he went missing in October last year.
Unfortunately, it has come to light that there has been some misinformation and this is not the case.
We have been contacted at Canarian Weekly by close personnel friends of Mr Fullman, and have waited and received confirmation of the actual situation and how it has been misconstrued.
It turns out there are two posters from SOS Desaparecidos in circulation, one saying he has been found and the other that the search has been deactivated.
The truth is that the search has now been deactivated as human remains were found approximately three months ago in the same area that he went missing on October 28th, a remote part of Puerto De La Cruz.
The sources that consulted us have explained that a DNA test is needed to confirm that it is the body of Mr Fullman, as they were unable to identify him, and are waiting for the final results to come through with the assistance of the British Consulate, but are sure it is him.
We would like to thank these people for coming forward and clarifying the situation, and also thank Mr Fullman’s partner who understands that this is a mistake and not done to cause any distress to her or her family.
