Today’s weather forecast for the Canary Islands today, show a slight rise in temperatures, which are higher than normal for this time of the year, and a haze that, finally, is starting to clear according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet). They have also now cancelled the yellow weather warning for strong gusts of wind.
There will be some medium and high clouds today, but generally, it will be sunnier with temperatures up to 27°C across the islands, but local temperatures reaching 30°C in sheltered areas in the south.
The wind will be from the southeast in the eastern province and from the east in the western province. In Lanzarote and Fuerteventura there will be intervals of strong wind and occasionally very strong gusts on the western slopes of the two islands during the first half of the day.
As for the sea, there will be force 5 winds from the south and southeast of the islands, reaching force 6 in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. Expect a strong swell with waves that could reach 2 or 3 meters on the north coasts.
