The Tenerife Cabildo have informed that all the access roads to the Teide National Park, which were closed yesterday due to bad weather, are back open as normal this morning. Although the snow and ice were not extreme, the steepness of the roads makes them dangerous during this type of weather front.
AEMET are forecasting that the cold weather will continue in the Canary Islands for at least another day today, with some clouds at the beginning of the day and getting more overcast during the afternoon.
Some rain is forecast for this afternoon, mainly on the northern slopes of the more mountainous islands, but in contrast, there will be a light haze in the easternmost islands (Lanzarote and Fuerteventura).
Temperatures are expected to stay the same, or slightly decrease, with light frosts on high peaks in Tenerife and La Palma. The wind will blow from the north, becoming stronger on the eastern and western slopes in the afternoon.
