The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) is forecasting a slightly cooler day today with a drop in temperatures and some rain in Tenerife and Gran Canaria, before a wet weekend in parts of all of the Canary Islands. The eastern islands will be clearer today with some sun, and the smaller western islands will be overcast and windy.
A north wind will affect all of the islands today but is stronger in the western islands of La Palma, La Gomera, El Hierro, and the north of Tenerife, being force 5 or 6 offshore with a strong swell and waves up to 3 metres high.
In the north of the eastern islands conditions will be much the same, but the sea will be calmer in the south of Gran Canaria where it will be variable from force 1 to 4.
