15-year-old girl rescued after falling into ravine in Tenerife

A 15-year-old girl has been rescued by firefighters after falling into a ravine in Güímar, Tenerife, during the early hours of this morning (Monday).

The emergency services were alerted at around 1:00am to an incident in a ravine near Camino Fregenal, in the municipality of Güímar.

Firefighters from the Tenerife Fire Brigade were dispatched to the area and successfully rescued the teenager from the ravine.

Once she had been brought to safety, paramedics from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) assessed her injuries and confirmed that she had suffered multiple injuries of moderate severity.

The girl was subsequently taken by ambulance to the Nuestra Señora de Candelaria University Hospital for further medical treatment.

Officers from the Guardia Civil also attended and completed the relevant reports.

The circumstances surrounding the girl's fall have not been confirmed.
