As from Monday, the UK will start to impose fines of £200 to anyone who doesn’t provide a genuine reason for travel at the airport, or who give false reasons, after a new directive and system of ‘Proof of Travel’ implemented by the Ministry of Transport.
In a press release, the Ministry explains that all citizens who have an acceptable reason to leave the country in the context of the pandemic, such as work ongoing commitments, medical reasons, education or funerals, must fill out a form that they have to present to the airlines before boarding.
