According to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), the Canary Islands will be affected by storm Lola, a cold front that will spread from west to east across the archipelago, for the next few days from today. The rain is more likely to be intense at the beginning on the northern and western slopes of the westernmost islands (La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro), and from noon on Tenerife and Gran Canaria.
There will be light winds from the northwest increasing to moderate in strength from west to east of the archipelago during the day, with gusts In the high peaks of Tenerife later this afternoon.
Looking ahead to the weekend, the situation will intensify tomorrow (Saturday) as the wind will be from the west-northwest with gusts that exceed 70 kilometres per hour on the summits of La Palma and Tenerife.
