Baby Petru was infected when his mother moved home with her brother, who unknowingly was suffering from coronavirus asymptomatically. Petru, has had to spend 70 days in ICU to defeat the virus, suffering from severe respiratory problems and great difficulty eating, which has required a complex rehabilitation process for someone so young and small.
At the start of his illness it was touch and go as to whether he would survive the virus, and his parents could only see him by video conference and weren’t even allowed to touch him until he tested negative.
Today, when leaving the hospital in Valencia, nurses made a corridor to clap and say goodbye to baby Petru and his parents.
