2nd major drug bust on the Gran Canaria coast in just over a week

The Guardia Civil from Agüimes, in Gran Canaria, has led an operation that resulted in them seizing 1,800 kilos of hashish on the coast of El Burrero in Ingenio on Sunday night, from an inflatable boat that was bringing the drugs ashore. This is the second time in just over a week they have intercepted a boat like this in the same place on October 11^th.

On this occasion, the interception of the drugs occurred late on Sunday night as investigators were following the trail of drug traffickers who were surprised by the police as soon as they stepped onto the coast. Officers plans were executed perfectly and they managed to capture the two traffickers who are being held in Guardia Civil cells, awaiting trial.

On October 11^th, seven people were detained including one who was at the coast with a vehicle waiting for them to arrive, however on this occasion it is just the traffickers in the boat that have been arrested, so the police investigation continues to find other members of the gang involved in receiving and distributing the drugs.
