RULE CLARIFICATION: No test required to travel from Tenerife to another island

As of midnight on Sunday night, 00.00h Monday, Tenerife is moving into Level 4 alert for Covid as announced yesterday after the Governing Council meeting, with some of the restrictions being relaxed due to the advancement of the vaccination campaign in the islands.

As always there is some confusion over some of the measures, especially after some alterations, even after they have been printed in the Official Boletin of the Canary Islands (BOC), one of which has had further clarification via a Government press release.

Many interpreted the level change to mean that if they travel from a Level 4 island, i.e. Tenerife, to another island they will have to present the negative test result of a diagnostic test of active infection for SARS-Cov-2; however it has now been that none is necessary and that this measure has been suspended.

However, with regard to the control of passengers through ports and airports in the Canary Islands, the regional Government recommends that temperature measurements be carried out on arrival or departure from the islands that are in level 4 epidemiological alert, and that the Covid Certificate is there already if any further requirement is needed in the future.
