The technical director of Pevolca, Miguel Ángel Morcuende, has appealed to those people who are preparing to visit La Palma this bank holiday weekend, to please comply with the rules established for the reorganization of traffic in the areas surrounding the volcano.
He stressed the importance of leaving the roads clear for use by the emergency services and confirmed that a bus service has been arranged that will leave every twenty minutes from the old airport, where there is ample parking, taking people to the area of the Tajuya church, where there is a privileged view of the volcano.
Private vehicles are asked not to use the LP-3 highway so that the emergency services can act whenever necessary, and all pedestrians walking on the roads in the area must wear a mask, hat, clothing covering all limbs, and a reflective vest.
He also emphasized the dangers the volcano and the lava can give, and reiterated that entry into the clearly marked exclusion zone is not permitted on foot or by car.
