La Palma airport is fully operational again after being closed for 24 hours, after a cleaning operation of the ash that accumulated on the runway spread by the volcano since it erupted a week ago.
AENA has reported that after progress in clearing the ash and with prior approval of flight plans by Enaire, the air navigation manager, the airport can operate again as normal.
This means that all the airports in the Canary Islands are now fully operational, although AENA advises travellers to check the status of flights with the respective airlines.
La Palma administrations and emergency services have collaborated with AENA to clear the ash at the airport as quick and efficiently as possible.
