The Canary Islands Government wants to reintroduce one the measures from the Easter restrictions that allows travel between the islands for any reason, as long as travellers have a negative Covid test, be it a PCR or antigen test. At the moment travel between three of the islands, Tenerife Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura, is only allowed for essential reasons as they are in Level 3, but the Government wants to overwrite this.
The Minister of Tourism, Yaiza Castilla, has announced that she is going to propose this to the Governing Council meeting on Thursday, as it is seen as an essential way that local tourism in the Canary Islands can increase, as many people want to go to a different island for a holiday.
