After announcing that masks will be mandatory in public places from tomorrow (Friday), the Council of Ministers have met today to form the decree that will bring this into action after publication in the BOE, in time for Christmas as it is a time that always brings a lot of social interaction, with four exceptions.
The mask does not have to be worn outdoors in the following cases:
- While doing sports.
- On walks in the open air where you go alone or with a family member or friend, as long as there is a metre and a half of distance between you.
- In natural open spaces
- In the family environment.

It was only organised five days in advance, to address the situation of Covid-19, which has spread throughout the country with the 'omicron' variant, just 48 hours before Christmas Eve.
