Covid update: February finishes with 140 new cases and 3 deaths

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health published this afternoon, there has been 140 new cases of Covid-19 detected in the last 24 hours, reaching an accumulated a total of 40,725 cases, while the number of deaths reaches 589 after three Covid related deaths were reported in Gran Canaria.

Of the new cases, Gran Canaria is the island that has registered the most with 65, followed by Tenerife with 56, Fuerteventura with 9, and Lanzarote with 8. In the last seven days, a total of 1,233 new cases and 13 deaths have been registered in the islands, compared to 1,052 positives and 11 deaths registered the week before.

This data will contribute to figures that the Governing Council will review tomorrow in their meeting to decide any levels changes for all of the islands, except Tenerife who are staying in Level 2 for at least another week.
