Covid update: 218 new cases and 3 deaths in the last 24 hours

The Canary Islands have registered 218 new cases of Covid in the last 24 hours bringing the total number of accumulated cases in the archipelago to 44,843 since the pandemic began with 4,412 active cases. In addition, according to the data registered by the Ministry of Health, there have been three more deaths, two of them in Gran Canaria and one in Tenerife.

The deceased are a 73-year-old woman in Tenerife, and a 73-year-old man and an 89-year-old woman in Gran Canaria, bringing the total of lives claimed by the pandemic to 647 throughout the archipelago. All the deaths registered in the last 24 hours are linked to outbreaks in family environment and presented previous pathologies.

Of the new cases reported today, Gran Canaria add 96; Tenerife 87; Fuerteventura 27; 7 in Lanzarote, and 1 in La Palma. The cumulative incidence per 100,000 inhabitants over fourteen days in the Canary Islands is 131.02 and 66.22 over seven days. There have now been 933,110 PCR tests carried out on the islands, of which 3,093 correspond to the last 24 hours.
