The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has reported that a batch of 14,040 doses of Pfizer's vaccine against Covid-19 has been received today in the Canary Islands, which will be added to the 4,180 from Moderna's laboratory and 8,900 from Astrazéneca that are scheduled to arrive tomorrow.
To date, a total of 85,412 doses of the Covid-19 vaccines have been administered in the archipelago, following the Governments vaccination plan. So far, almost all of group 1 (users and workers of the social health centres) have already been vaccinated with a second dose, and the administration of the second dose to the staff of the Canary Health Service (SCS) has already begun that make up groups 2 and 3, and last week the health personnel of the subsidized centres have started to be inoculated.
There are already a total of 28,080 people in the Canary Islands who are immunized for having received both doses, of which 18,520 correspond to group 1 and the rest to group 2. The second dose is being administered following the technical sheet of Pfizer and the recommendations of international organizations that allow the second dose from the 21st day after administering the first.
Vaccination will continue this week with the inoculation of the second dose of group 2, and with the administration of the first dose of the front-line health workers assigned to private centres. In addition, the vaccination of group 4 will begin this week.
