The Ministry of Health for the Canary Islands has informed of 213 new cases in the archipelago in the last 24 hours, of which 123 are in Gran Canaria, 45 are in Tenerife and 32 are in Lanzarote. Furteventura ci¡ontinues to have low numbers with only 6 new cases, and there were 5 in El Hierro and 2 in La Palma. La Gomera continues to be Covid free.
The Ministry has also notified of three Covid related deaths today, one in Gran Canaria, one in Tenerife and one in Lanzarote, bringing the total number of people that have lost their lives to 530 since the pandemic began.
As for the Accumulated Incidence (AI) over seven days in the Canary Islands, it drops to 86.84 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, and over fourteen days it also drops to 179.81 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. In addition, so far 795,262 PCR tests have been carried out on the islands, of which 41,327 were positive, representing 5.2%.
