Covid update: Canaries finishes January with 233 new cases and 3 deaths

According to the Ministry of Health the Canary Islands have registered 232 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of people who have tested positive for the virus since the first case was detected in La Gomera a year ago today, to 35,513.

They also informed of three more deaths today, two in Gran Canaria and one in Tenerife, which according to the Ministry are two women aged 65 and 73 years old, and a man aged 89 years old. This means that 113 people have died in January which is the highest monthly totals since the pandemic began, and 527 overall.
