The Canary Islands has added a total of 261 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, meaning that the accumulated total reaches 31,207 people who have suffered the virus since the start of the pandemic, and there has been 3 more Covid related deaths, two in Tenerife and one in El Hierro, according to the data provided by the Ministry of Health. Later today the new restrictions in the two capital Islands will be known.
Currently, the cumulative incidence rate in the Canary Islands over seven days has reached 94.60, while at 14 days it rises to 169.08, which is primarily lead by the eastern islands of Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria whose rates continue to rise, whereas the western islands, Tenerife, La Gomera, El Hierro and La Palma, continue to decrease.
Regarding PCR tests, 731,779 have been carried out since the beginning of the pandemic, with 4,114 yesterday, of which 36,989 were positive, which represents 5.05 percent. Also, the R rate is currently 1.00 and so far 39,339 doses of the Covid vaccine have been administered.
