The Ministry of Health has reported that there have been 170 new cases of coronavirus detected in the Canary Islands today, of which 79 are in Gran Canaria, 70 are in Tenerife, and 9 each in Fuerteventura and Lanzarote.
They have also reported of five Covid related deaths on the islands bringing the total number of human losses due to the pandemic to 608. Today there were three in Gran Canaria, one in Tenerife, and one in La Gomera, the first on the island since the pandemic began.
At the weekend there are always less medical discharges, and today is no exception with 90 people confirmed as recovering from the virus. Most of these were in Gran Canaria which now means that they have 26 less active cases than Tenerife, making Tenerife the most infected island in the archipelago again.
