The calima is approaching the Canary Islands

The skies will be slightly cloudy or clear this Monday morning in the Canary Islands, with a haze in the eastern islands of Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, and Fuerteventura in the second half of the day as the calima starts to enter the archipelago, according to the forecast of the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET).

Temperatures are expected to rise as a warm easterly wind brings the haze, which will be moderate in strength with gusts in inland and high areas of up to 60km/h.

At sea, another day of big waves and swell is expected with a north or northeast component of force 4 or 5, increasing to force 6 on the west and southeast coasts. Northwest swell from 2 to 3 metres.
