The European Justice Commissioner, Didier Reynders, said yesterday that the date with which they are working towards for the launch of the digital certificate for tourists immunized from coronavirus, is the beginning of June so that the system is "fully operational" by the end of June, after its legal processing and technical development against the clock between now and then.
"We want to be able to start pilot projects at the beginning of June and be able to have the whole system fully working by the end of that month," Reynders told the European Parliament's Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs committee.
The supervisor for data protection, Wojciech Wiewiórowski, warned of the problems posed by the initiative due to the risk of "creating false expectations" in terms of security that cannot be guaranteed with the available data, while warning of the lack of conclusive information on immunization times.
