The Canary Islands Government has requested that Enaire creates two restricted areas of airspace in the vicinity of La Palma airport to facilitate emergency operations, sources from the air navigation manager have informed news outlet Europa Press.
This means that only State security forces, emergency services, State aircraft, and those duly authorized may enter that area, however, it does not affect commercial flights at the moment because they do not fly over those two areas.
For now, the La Palma airport is still open as normal and there is no need to panic regarding flights in other islands, in fact, Aena has only notified that six inter-island flights have been delayed.
