The familiar trade wind weather pattern looks set to continue, bringing cloud to northern slopes and sunshine to much of the south of the Canary Islands today, according to the State Meteorological Agency, AEMET.

While no major weather warnings are currently in place, residents and visitors should be aware of strong winds in exposed areas and rough sea conditions along Atlantic-facing coastlines.

Temperatures will remain largely unchanged across the archipelago, with the highest forecast of 27°C expected in Tenerife.

Sea conditions will remain rough in exposed areas, with north-easterly winds reaching force 5 to 6 and occasionally force 7 in south-eastern and far north-western coastal waters. A northerly swell of between one and two metres is also expected.

Island-by-island forecast for Wednesday 10th June 2026:

Tenerife
Northern Tenerife will experience cloudy conditions below 1,100 to 1,300 metres during the morning, with a small chance of light drizzle in north-eastern midland areas.
Large clear spells are expected to develop during the afternoon, while southern resort areas should remain mostly sunny throughout the day.

Trade winds will remain moderate but strengthen in exposed south-eastern and north-western areas, where occasional very strong gusts cannot be ruled out, particularly during the early hours.
Temperatures will stay largely unchanged, although a slight drop is possible in southern midland areas. Lows of 20°C and highs of 27°C are forecast.

Gran Canaria
Northern parts of Gran Canaria below approximately 1,100 metres will remain cloudy during the morning, with a chance of light drizzle in midland areas before brighter conditions develop later in the day.

Elsewhere, skies will be mostly clear, although some cloud may affect south-western areas early in the morning.

Moderate trade winds will continue, becoming strong at times along the south-east and north-west coasts. Very strong gusts are also possible in exposed areas, especially before sunrise.

Temperatures will remain unchanged or fall slightly, particularly inland and will range between 20°C and 24°C.

Lanzarote
Northern parts of the island will begin the day under cloudy skies before conditions gradually improve during the morning, leading to largely sunny weather for the rest of the day.

Moderate trade winds will continue throughout the day, becoming occasionally strong in southern areas during the morning.

Elsewhere, skies will be mostly clear with only occasional cloud during the early morning hours.
Temperatures will remain steady, with highs of 25°C and overnight lows of 19°C.

Fuerteventura
Cloudy conditions early in the day will give way to brighter skies by mid-morning across much of the island.
Trade winds will be moderate overall, although stronger gusts are likely in western areas and along the southern slopes of Jandía.
Temperatures are expected to remain stable or fall slightly, with a low of 19°C and a high of 24°C.
