More haze as another calima covers the Canary Islands

The weather forecast from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) shows more haze for Sunday in the Canaries, with cloudy intervals in the western islands and some weak rain at altitude this afternoon is not ruled out. The yellow warning for haze in force since yesterday in the province of Las Palmas (Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, and Fuerteventura) is now extended to the rest of the islands.

They are predicting dust and sand that will limit visibility to around 3,000 metres, with the warning active from midnight last night until 11.59pm tonight.

In general the wind will be light to moderate from the east in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, and a light northeasterly wind with some gusts in the rest. Sunset is due at 6.45pm tonight.

As for sea conditions, winds from the north, northeast and east of force 3 or 4 are forecast, and locally force 5 in Gran Canaria, with strong waves and swell of 1 to 2 metres.
