The Guardia Civil have arrested a 26-year-old former employee of a hotel in Caleta de Fuste, Fuerteventura, for allegedly committing six counts of burglary and one count of vehicle theft.
A second suspect, a 23-year-old woman, was also detained in connection with one of the robberies at the complex.
According to the police report, the incidents took place between 22nd and 28th January. The former employee, who was familiar with the hotel's layout and security measures, conspired with her accomplice to access several guest rooms. The pair stole high-end electronic devices, luxury beauty products, and designer clothing.
Investigations revealed that the suspects entered the rooms by scaling terraces, jumping over the perimeter wall, or using emergency exits. They carried out their crimes at various times of the day and night, making detection more difficult.
The arrests were made possible through public cooperation and footage from the hotel's security cameras. A portion of the stolen items were recovered and have been returned to their rightful owners.
The suspects have been placed at the disposal of the Guardia Court in Puerto del Rosario, where legal proceedings are now underway.
