Elderly couple found dead at home in their apartment in Gran Canaria

The National Police have reported that they have found the dead bodies of a retired couple inside their 8th-floor^th floor apartment in Las Palmas, the capital of Gran Canaria. The cause of the two deaths is currently unknown, although they confirmed that there are no signs of violence.

Although inquiries are still being carried out by the homicide and forensic departments, everything seems to indicate that one of them died from natural causes and the other committed suicide, but intense work is being carried out to confirm this.

The two bodies were found at the couple's residence, located in the neighbourhood of La Feria, in Las Palmas. Neighbours called the police after not seeing the couple for a few days, and after detecting a strong smell coming from inside the house.

It’s not the first time that a similar situation has occurred in the capital of Gran Canaria, with an elderly person dying in their home and it being several days until their death is discovered. It is also not the first time that one of them has died and immediately afterwards the other one does too, either of natural causes or provoked death.
