Airline staff and passengers on Jet2 flight LS307 from Belfast to Fuerteventura were forced to intervene when a drunk and aggressive passenger caused chaos during a routine trip last Saturday (March 1st).
A video posted on TikTok captured the moment the man began shouting about "the Lord Jesus" and screeching loudly from his seat, alarming fellow passengers, including children seated close by.
The video, shared two days after the incident, shows the disruptive man being confronted by two other passengers attempting to calm him down. One person can be heard reminding him that he is "on a plane" as he continued his unintelligible outburst.
The footage was accompanied by text criticising the man's "disgraceful" behaviour and praising the airline staff for their professionalism. The caption on the video read: "This is what happens when people drink themselves to oblivion. These crew members were outstanding."
The onlooker who posted the video also expressed concern for the children who had to witness the incident, noting that the disturbance lasted for about an hour.
The video sparked a strong reaction online, with many commenters suggesting the disruptive passenger should be banned from flying. Others called for alcohol to be prohibited on planes to prevent similar incidents. One commenter described the situation as "so frightening for all other passengers and crew," while another remarked, "Hard enough flying without this happening."
However, some users opposed a blanket ban on alcohol during flights, arguing that responsible passengers should not have to suffer due to the actions of a few rowdy individuals.
Jet2 has not yet released an official statement regarding the incident. It remains unclear whether the passenger faced any consequences upon landing.
