Covid update: 259 new cases and four more deaths in the Canary Islands

The Ministry of Health of the Canary Islands has notified of 259 new coronavirus infections today, which now accounts for more than 38,000 accumulated cases, since the first one was notified about at the end of January 2020 in La Gomera.

In addition, four more people have died from Covid related deaths in the last 24 hours, three in Lanzarote and one in Gran Canaria.

Currently the incidence rate over the last fourteen days stands at 139.22 per 100,000 inhabitants, and the seven-day incidence rate at 64.04.

The total number of infected people registered in the Canary Islands since the beginning of the pandemic stands at 38,090, of which 554 have died and 30,835 have been discharged, bringing active cases to 6,701.
