AEMET extends weather warnings for wind and rain throughout Monday

The State Meteorological Centre (AEMET) has extended the weather warnings in the Canary Islands until tonight (Monday), although the storm is moving east across the Archipelago so the most affected today will be Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, and Fuerteventura, where it will be a wet and windy day.

This does not mean that Tenerife and the most western islands won’t have any wind or rain, it means that it is starting to clear and should be less intense, although gusts up to 90km/h are expected in more mountainous areas.

TENERIFE (South):
General: Mostly cloudy or overcast with intermittent showers.

Precipitation: 61% - Early morning rain will be followed by showers throughout the day.
Wind: Strong, 32km/h from the east.

GRAN CANARIA (South):
General: Mostly cloudy or overcast with rain showers.

LANZAROTE:
General: Mostly cloudy or overcast with rain. Some local sunny spells.
Humidity: 78%
Precipitation: 63% - Some l
ight showers.
Wind: Strong, 32km/h from the northwest. Gusts up to 80km/h.
Temperatures: Maximum 20°C and minimum 13°C.

FUERTEVENTURA:
General: Mostly cloudy or overcast with drizzle.
Humidity: 77%
Precipitation: 47% -
Early morning rain with some drizzle later.
Wind: Strong, 33km/h from the northwest. Gusts up to 80km/h.
Temperatures: Maximum 20°C and minimum 14°C.
