AEMET extends weather warnings as haze raises temperatures to 34°C

AEMET has confirmed that they have extended the active yellow weather warnings in the Canary Islands to now finish on Monday, April 18th. These warnings are for adverse sea conditions in Tenerife and La Palma for deep swell, strong currents, and big waves, particularly on the north, east and west coasts, although caution is advised in the south as well.

Gusts of wind up to 70km/h from the northwest are also expected, which will translate into force 7 at sea, hence the swell of 2-3 metres and waves up to 3 metres high.

Tomorrow, Sunday, the State Meteorological Agency are also forecasting haze on south-facing slopes, with temperatures up to 34 degrees in the interior of the islands.
