Xian Home in San Cristóbal de La Laguna has opened a new section selling sealed mystery packages, with prices ranging from just €1 to €20.

The concept is simple: customers choose and pay for a parcel without knowing exactly what's inside, then open it to discover whether they've landed a bargain, something useful, or an item they never knew they needed.

Mystery parcel shops have become increasingly popular across Spain, fuelled by the enormous number of returns, surplus products and unclaimed packages generated by online shopping.

Similar businesses sell stock associated with major online marketplaces and retailers including Amazon, Shein, AliExpress and Temu.

At Xian Home's new La Laguna section, customers can choose packages priced between €1 and €20, making it relatively cheap to try their luck. The catch, of course, is that you don't know what you've bought until you open it.
