A 41-year-old glass recycling truck driver was discovered dead on Thursday night, amidst the rubble of the Zonzamas environmental complex in Lanzarote, as reported in a statement by the emergency services yesterday.
His body was found completely buried in the glass recycling mountain, and the death was certified by a doctor from the Canarian Emergency Service who was dispatched to the complex after they received an alert informing them of the grim discovery.
The Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES) collaborated with the Local Police in the search for the worker, who was being looked for after his truck was found running in the unloading area of the complex, with the cargo lift raised and the controller lying on the ground.
Additionally, the man's mobile phone and the company's phone were discovered inside the vehicle. An investigation and autopsy have been ordered to confirm the cause of death and the timeline leading up to the discovery of his body.
