VIDEO: Motorcyclist dies after leaving the road in Tenerife
A man was killed yesterday afternoon, Sunday, in an accident on his motorbike on the TF-21 road in the municipality of La Orotava in Tenerife, according to the Canary Islands Emergency Coordination Centre (CECOES).
The alarm was raised at 12:47pm, reporting that a motorcyclist had left the road at kilometre point 36 of the TF-21. Emergency services were immediately activated, including a medicalised helicopter and a basic life-support SUC ambulance, along with the Guardia Civil, the Canary Islands Police, La Orotava Local Police, and CECOPIN Tenerife.
Guardia Civil officers and the Canary Islands Police secured the area to allow the helicopter to land safely, assisted by CECOPIN staff who provided guidance for the manoeuvre.
Despite rapid deployment, medical personnel from the SUC helicopter could only confirm the man’s death at the scene, due to the severity of his injuries.
The Guardia Civil has taken charge of the investigation and informed the man’s family, while Local Police supported the emergency response.
