Two injured in head-on collision in Costa Teguise

Two men were seriously injured in a head-on collision involving two cars on Avenida de Las Palmeras in Costa Teguise (Lanzarote) on Friday night, as reported by the 112 Emergency Services.

After being alerted by CECOES at around 9:00pm, local police officers, two ambulances from the Canarian Emergency Service, and firefighters were dispatched to the scene.

When they got there, they saw that one of the vehicle's drivers was trapped inside the car due to the impact, requiring the intervention of firefighters to cut him out.  

Both drivers, who had multiple injuries, received medical attention and were later transferred to Molina Orosa Hospital in Arrecife once their conditions were stabilized.

Emergency personnel disconnected the car batteries of both vehicles and assisted Highway Maintenance in removing the vehicles. The road was subsequently cleaned with absorbent material.

Local police officers managed traffic and conducted the necessary investigation into the cause of the accident.
