The Guardia Civil in Fuerteventura have arrested two men and are investigating two others after a violent street fight erupted in Caleta de Fuste, one of the island’s busiest tourist areas. The fight broke out on 5th November on one of the main streets in the resort, leading to several emergency calls from witnesses who reported several men attacking each other.
When officers arrived, they discovered that the group had been fighting with makeshift weapons, including golf clubs and bolt cutters. A quick security operation was launched involving the Puerto del Rosario Guardia Civil and Antigua’s Local Police. The suspects were tracked down nearby, still carrying the items used in the confrontation.
Eyewitnesses told police that the altercation caused panic among residents and holidaymakers, unfolding in broad daylight at a time when the streets were packed. The violence and the use of objects capable of causing serious injury created a genuine threat to public safety.
Officers arrested two of the men immediately and seized the weapons used. The other two were later summoned to a police station, where they were formally questioned as part of the investigation.
