Three arrested after crack and cocaine raids in Tenerife

The National Police have arrested three people and shut down a suspected crack cocaine dealing operation in Puerto de la Cruz, North Tenerife, following an investigation into drug trafficking in the town centre.

The operation uncovered a range of illegal drugs, weapons and more than €16,000 in cash, with one of the suspects subsequently remanded in custody.

Police launched the investigation after identifying three people suspected of working together to distribute crack cocaine and cocaine in the central area of Puerto de la Cruz.

Following extensive surveillance and several police operations, officers gathered sufficient evidence to carry out coordinated arrests.

On 15th September, the three suspects were detained at different locations across Tenerife while going about their daily activities.

Weapons, drugs and cash seized

Following the arrests, officers carried out two searches at residential properties under judicial authorisation, assisted by specialist police dog handlers from the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Local Police.

During the searches, officers seized:

• A firearm with a magazine
• A stun gun and an extendable police baton
• 33 shotgun cartridges and a pair of handcuffs
• 53 grams of crack cocaine and 2 grams of cocaine
• 2.5 grams of MDMA
• 31 grams of marijuana and 69 grams of hashish
• €16,190 in cash

The three suspects were brought before a court in connection with alleged drug trafficking offences.

A judge ordered that the main suspect be remanded in custody, while the investigation continues.

Police appeal for information

The National Police say they remain committed to tackling drug trafficking and dismantling networks involved in the distribution of illegal substances across Tenerife.

Officers are also encouraging members of the public who have information or suspicions about drug dealing to report their concerns through the police's dedicated anti-drugs email service.
