The new port in Playa Blanca will have 155 new berths for leisure boats

The expansion of the port of Playa Blanca, a project being carried out by Puertos Canarios, is going to have 155 new berths for sports and leisure boats in the area of the fishing dock and will offer greater facilities to its users.

The project has cost nearly 40 million euros, 85% of which has been financed by the European Union (EU) and 15% by the Ministry of Public Works and Transport of the Canary Islands.

Thanks to the space that has been gained in the port during the expansion, new places for private boats will be made available to those interested which do not have commercial use.

"When the time comes, Puertos Canarios will publish when the port is ready and application to have one of the new berths is open, which will follow the approved procedure and have maximum transparency," said Manuel Ortega, the manager of Puertos Canarios.

The application process will be made online through the Puertos Canarios website, and berths will be available for a minimum of six months and a maximum of 4 years, being renewable every six months until the established term expires, unless the owner renounces or fails to comply with the obligations in place.
