The biggest hotel in Lanzarote opens in Playa Blanca

Grupo HD and the Barceló Hotel Group officially opened the largest hotel in Lanzarote yesterday (Friday), situated in the bustling tourist hub of Playa Blanca. The colossal resort is described as an "innovative" 4-star complex, covering 100,000 square metres of prime real estate in the southern town of the island.

Boasting an impressive 720 rooms and 1,400 beds, the strategically positioned Barceló Playa Blanca offers a panoramic view of the nearby islands of Lobos and Fuerteventura from its enviable front-line sea location.

The project's distinctive features revolve around seamlessly integrating shapes, colours, and textures inspired by Lanzarote's natural environment. The complex showcases a voluminous hall with a grand dome, providing endless views of the sea.

Furthermore, the hotel design incorporates a premium experience, featuring an exclusive area for adults. Guests can indulge in a lobby bar, and eight restaurants, including themed, Canarian, Asian, and Mexican options, along with a sports bar and three beach clubs, one exclusively reserved for premium clients.

The complex also boasts a 180-metre-long main infinity pool, another heated infinity pool for premium clients, a convention centre accommodating 800 people, a 2,000-square-metre entertainment room, various meeting rooms, a high-altitude wellness centre with a spa and gym overlooking the sea, and a sports centre with multi-sport courts and paddle tennis.

For children and teenagers, there are recreational areas, a children's pool with a pirate ship, a climbing wall, and various entertainment rooms.

All rooms offer a sea view and have been designed with an open-plan approach. The hotel features six types of rooms, some with private pools. Common areas are adorned with vegetation characteristic of the island, showcasing over 80 species, paying homage to the Lanzarote artist César Manrique by incorporating some Jameos.

Adjacent Commercial Promenade:
The front-line resort is complemented by a commercial promenade, named Paseo LASAL, located along the seafront in front of the hotel. Set to open on January 20th, 2024, it will have stores with prestigious brands and restaurants, adding an extra layer of sophistication to the vibrant coastal scene.
