Tenerife has just experienced its hottest start to November since records began in 1941, with temperatures reaching a record high of 33.0°C on Tuesday (4th November 2025) at the Tenerife North Airport weather station.
The data, confirmed by Actualidad Geográfica-Meteorológica de Canarias on the social platform X, marks a new all-time high for November, surpassing the previous record of 31.0°C set on 9th November 1998.
Meteorologists attribute this exceptional heat to a persistent warm air mass over the Canary Islands, combined with dry air and stable atmospheric conditions that have driven temperatures well above seasonal norms in the last few days.
Although the heat is now starting to ease, the Spanish Meteorological Agency (Aemet) forecasts that conditions will remain warm for the time of year, with some areas still expected to see above-average temperatures before cooler weather returns.
Experts warn that this new record fits into a broader trend of out-of-season heatwaves increasingly affecting the Canary Islands in recent years, particularly during autumn, a pattern strongly linked to climate change and shifting weather systems across the region.
