Paraglider injured after fall near Puerto Calero

A 50-year-old man was injured in a paragliding accident on Saturday morning near the access roundabout to Puerto Calero, in the municipality of Tías in Lanzarote.

The accident occurred at approximately 11:30am when CECOES received an alert about the accidental fall and requested immediate assistance.

Firefighters rescued the injured man and transported him to awaiting medical personnel who assessed the victim and treated multiple ‘moderate’ injuries before transporting him by ambulance to the Doctor José Molina Hospital for further treatment.

The Guardia Civil took charge of the official report, while the Local Police assisted with emergency operations at the scene of the accident.
