Motorcyclist Killed in Collision with Car in Gran Canaria
A motorcyclist has died following a collision with a car in the municipality of La Aldea de San Nicolás on Saturday evening, according to reports from the Canary Islands emergency services.
The fatal accident happened just before 8:00pm on Calle Las Marciegas, after emergency services received reports of a crash involving a motorcycle and a car.
CECOES immediately dispatched emergency crews to the scene, including a medicalised ambulance, a basic life support ambulance and a local primary care doctor from the SUC.
However, despite the rapid response, medical staff were unable to perform resuscitation manoeuvres because the rider had suffered injuries described as incompatible with life.
Firefighters secured the area to prevent further risks on the road, while Local Police officers assisted with traffic control and emergency coordination.
The Guardia Civil have opened an investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the fatal collision. No further details about the victim have been released as yet.
