Man in critical condition after assault in a Los Cristianos street
A 50-year-old man has been left in critical condition following a violent assault in Los Cristianos, in south Tenerife, according to the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).
The incident occurred just before 1:00am on Calle Juan Reverón Sierra, where emergency teams were dispatched after receiving an alert that a man required urgent medical assistance following an attack.
National Police officers were first on the scene and found the victim in cardiac arrest, immediately beginning resuscitation.
Medical staff from the Los Cristianos Health Centre, together with the Canary Islands Emergency Service, continued advanced CPR and successfully stabilised the man, who was then transferred in critical condition to the University Hospital Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria.
The Police have opened an investigation to determine the circumstances of the assault.
